George Petty was one of the most famous Pin-Up artists of his time. For three decades the Petty Girl was everywhere, selling everything from bathing suits and hosiery, to beer and monkey wrenches. But she was most famous for her calendars. I'd been a admirer of Petty's work for a long time and finally decided to try my hand at creating a little statue in the his style.

Major Marjorie is what I envisioned Petty might have done if he were asked to illustrate a poster for a Sci-Fi movie. The title is a nod to his muse and model of many years, his daughter Marjorie Petty. While digging through the studio I found four castings I'd forgotten I had, the molds having long since deteriorated and discarded.

About the Edition:
I'm offering three of an edition of four. Each one is painted, one at a time, each one with its own color scheme. They are, for all intents and purposes, one-of-kind. Each statue is signed and numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. I'm holding the fourth out because I haven't yet settled on a costume pattern or color scheme for the final statue. When I complete the fourth, I'll offer it for sale and the edition will be complete. No additional Major Marjorie statues will be available.
